I have decided to offer for sale the following ...

One RACAL TA3762 250W Linear Amplifier which is faulty (see below), and ...

One RACAL MA3772 1KW HF Combiner, believed to be in good working order.

Both these items have languished in the space under the stairs in our house for several years. The idea was to retain them as spares. But since I don't have any plans on running more than one TA3762, I have no need for a second one or for the combiner.

The MA3772 is more or less a passive unit. The internal power supply serves to power the fan and some minor circuitry. I originally had three of these and passed the other two on to friend who managed to put together a 1KW array of TA3762s and MA3772s. So I have no reason to believe that this one will not work.

Regarding the TA3762 ...
When I received this, I was told that one of the two 150W PAs inside had a fault, and I can confirm that this is so. As I had two TA3762s, this one was put to one side as a source of spares. Due to work commitments, I have not had the time to further investigate the fault, which is believed to be minor.

It should be noted that these items are part of the 3750 Series and as such operate between 1MHz and 40MHz. Although specified as a 250W amplifier, the TA3762 will more than likely deliver 300W, and is designed to run full power 24Hrs a-day. In short, it is an extremely robust bit of kit.
It is designed to be driven from one of the 3750 series drive units ... either an MA3751 or MA3752 (dual drive unit). As the TA3762 BITE is initiated from the drive unit, I suspect that it is only compatible with the 3750 series. The same likely applies to the MA3772.
